About

Hello! Thank you for stopping by! This is a place that I make public some of the things that are mostly private.

The best garden is not perfect. It has a tree that might be gnarled and in the wrong place, and it doesn't flower well. The sun doesn't shine on it's patch as much as the rest of the garden. It's the kind of tree that would be in the part of the forest that people avoid on a dark night. But the whole garden has been tended equally. The tree is nourished and loved. The whole garden is all the better for having this wonderful tree.

Purpose

I choose a life of the arts. I believe art is essential to an enriched life. Through play and imagination I seek connection, meaning, and experience.

Mainly, I act, write, film, photograph, draw, and design experiences. I don't really see these things as being all that different, they are all a means to see, interpret, and communicate my experience of the world.

Beliefs and Values

When I think of the arts, and creative work, there are some things that lurk in the background. Such as the arts are so often cut from schools. At a time, I believe, when it can do the most good in a person's life. It is unfortunate that creative play is not valued as being 'real' work, or worthwhile. I passionately believe the arts are essential. Creative minds are desperately needed in the world.

Creative acts are not just for the very young and professionals. They are for everyone! In my view, it doesn't matter what you have done or how many people have connected with your work. I believe the world would be in a better place if more people engaged in creative work.

Some Highlights

As an actor I have performed Shakespeare in the round at a bar without rehearsal. I chose to choreograph a piece with a puppet rat. I have performed immersive theater, been on TV, in a podcast play, and in film festivals: SXSW, Outfest LA, and, not to brag, but I am quite proud of being projected at the Vintage on Sunset and IFC in New York.

As a filmmaker I have participated in a 24-hour film festival in NYC, and made a documentary that won the 2020 Preservation Design Award for Interpretive Exhibits. I created an informative mystery series that gathered well over 100 million views online.

In web building, I designed and created an immersive murder mystery experience for multiple players. I then designed and built an experience for LA's Maker Faire that incorporated AI.

In cocktails, I have won a couple of competitions in the UK.

In other work, I have created events, such as games, a film festival, and theater for adult first time actors and playwrights.
